An exceptional French Louis XVI mahogany secretaire abattant (or two-cupboard desk bureau) with a white marble top and gilt bronze decoration and handles.  The top section contains a fitted interior with eight drawers and the original tooled green leather writing fall, above two cupboard doors concealing a large half-height internal drawer below.  Completely original, unrestored country house condition, circa 1780
