The Decorator Source enjoys an international reputation as one of the premier destinations in the Cotswold's for antiques and high quality decorative antique furniture. Situated in the Gloucestershire market town of Tetbury, The Decorator Source is renowned for its extensive and ever changing inventory. This includes a wide selection of antique painted French furniture, decorative Italian furniture and traditional English antiques. We also stock decorative antique mirrors, prints and paintings, lamps and antique lighting, and other decorative antique accessories.

In addition, The Decorator Source specialises in the reconstruction of hard-to-find items of decorative furniture such as pairs of 18th Century style commodes and Italian style painted console tables. These one-off pieces are often created using antique components in order to faithfully replicate the aesthetic appeal of their period counterparts without any compromise in quality.

About our Founder
Colin Gee (1956 - 2020)

For Colin Gee, antiques were a life long passion, though as he was the first to acknowledge, it didn't run in the blood, "Unlike a lot of people in the antiques business, I don't come from a family of dealers. I became attracted by the fascinating bohemian world of art and artists and I've lived and worked happily in that milieu ever since".

Over twenty five years ago he moved to Tetbury and established the much admired Decorator Source Store. Colin explained the attraction, "I very much wanted to concentrate on decorative antiques and the Cotswolds, quite apart from being a beautiful place to live and work, is a major centre for American dealers looking for stock".

Professionally, Colin specialised in both English Georgian Country House furniture and 18th century French and Continental furniture. "I enjoy the thrill of the chase, the great thing about this business is the variety. Every day is different and every piece comes with its own story. And then there are the clients. I meet some fascinating, wonderful and - occasionally - famous people, united by their love of antiques".

Gallery Manager
Philip v. Brandenburg

Philip’s links with the world of antiques and interior design goes back many years.
